Extension Installation Guide

Follow these visual steps to load the BrowserShield extension into your browser.

⚡ Windows 1-Click Auto Installer

We've included automatic scripts to load and unload the extension instantly without manual browser configuration:

Click the **Download Extension** button in Step 1 below.
Extract the downloaded browsershield-extension.zip file.
Double-click Install.bat to register the extension instantly!
Restart Google Chrome and click Enable Extension when prompted by the browser.

To uninstall, simply double-click Uninstall.bat inside the same folder and restart your browser.

Step 1

Download the Extension Package

Download the official extension ZIP archive using the link below if you haven't already.

Step 2

Extract the Archive

Locate the downloaded browsershield-extension.zip on your computer. Right-click the file and select Extract All... (or use your favorite extraction utility like 7-Zip or WinRAR) to extract the files into a clean folder.

Step 3

Enable Developer Mode

1. Open your browser (Google Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge, or Opera).
2. In the address bar, type chrome://extensions/ and press Enter.
3. Look for the Developer mode toggle switch (typically in the top-right corner of the window) and turn it ON.

Step 4

Load Unpacked Folder

1. Near the top-left of the Extensions page, click the Load unpacked button.
2. Select the extracted extension folder (the directory containing manifest.json).
3. BrowserShield is now loaded and will appear in your extensions list!

Tip (Incognito Protection): Click the Details button on the BrowserShield extension card and toggle Allow in incognito to ON.

Step 5

Pin and Activate Your License

1. Click the **Extensions icon** (puzzle piece) in the toolbar and **Pin** BrowserShield.
2. Click the new BrowserShield shield icon in your toolbar.
3. Paste your 64-character activation code (generated after subscribing or using a promo code).
4. Click **Activate Shield** to immediately start protection.

Enterprise

🏢 Force-Run for All User Profiles (All OS)

To ensure BrowserShield runs automatically for all device users and profiles on Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Brave Browser, apply our cross-platform Enterprise Policy configurations:

Windows (Active Directory / Local Registry)

Run the administrative installer script to register policy keys globally under HKLM:

Double-click policies/install_policies.bat (Runs automatically as Admin)

macOS (MDM Plist Settings)

Apply preferences using the installer script (copies Plist configuration):

sudo ./policies/install_policies.sh

Linux (Managed Policy JSON)

Deploy JSON policy files into managed browser config paths:

sudo ./policies/install_policies.sh
